What’s Been Happening At Our Nursery
The babies have been busy exploring different movements. They enjoyed tummy time, crawling, climbing, walking and more.
The babies were introduced to small physical challenges such as the soft play and tunnel. They built up their physical strength, and developed gross motor skills.

Preschool enjoyed carrying out a wriggly worm science experiment. They discussed the ingredients needed and predicted what would happen.
They loved watching the worms move and fizz.

At Monkey Puzzle Guildford we are lucky to have children and families from a variety of cultures, speaking a range of languages. We love to include cultures, celebrations and languages in our daily learning wherever possible and wanted to extend this to children’s home learning.
To support this we have introduced a Language Lending Library. All books are written in English and an additional language. Children and parents are welcome to chose a book, sign it out, and enjoy at home.

They have enjoyed activities such as-
• Blue foam ocean tuff tray
• Yellow rice scooping activity
• Red themed small world tuff tray
The children have loved investigating the different colours, sharing their favourite colours, and singing songs about the rainbow.

This week Preschool have been focusing on their fine motor skills. They have enjoyed a range of activities, such as-

• Cotton Bud painting
These activities have supported the development of grip strength, and control over smaller objects.

The babies have been having a wonderful time exploring their senses. They have been playing with scented playdough, explored colourful tuff trays, and investigated different textures.

The preschoolers have been busy making Cheese Straws. They listened carefully to the instructions, rolling the pastry, cutting it, and sprinkling on the cheese.
After the Cheese Straws had cooked the children enjoyed them for snack.

How To Find Monkey Puzzle Guildford
Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Guildford can be found on just off the A246 on Denmark Road, opposite St Joseph’s Catholic Church and York Road Car Park, our post code is GU1 4DA. London Road Railway Station and Guildford town centre are just a few minutes-walk away.
Opening times: 7:30am to 6:30pm
Monday to Friday for 51 weeks per year, (closed for the week between
Christmas and New Year)
